Aloaha Timestamping Server (TSS/TSA)

The Aloaha Timestamping Server returns RFC 3161 and Authenticode compatible TimeTokens. It provides independent and irrefutable proof of time for transactions, documents and digital signatures.

Aloaha can be used to create legal weight evidence that business transactions occurred at a defined moment in time, that e-documents existed at a particular time and that they have not been subsequently altered. It can also independently prove when a digital signature was applied by the signer so that its validity can be verified in the long-term, even after expiry or revocation of signer’s digital credentials.

Aloaha TSA complies with the IETF RFC 3161 specifications and can be used for internal TSA needs or it can be used to provide infrastructure-class commercial TSA services to multiple external parties. It offers a number of advantages for managed service providers in the authentication, logging/reporting and token management features.

The Aloaha TSA can be used with any HTTP or HTTPS capable RFC 3161 Client.

Time stamping is a very important mechanism for the long-term preservation of important documents and digital signatures. It can be used also to protect copyrights and intellectual property rights. Basically it is an electronic notarization service and also called “Trusted Timestamping” and “Time Notary”.

Trusted Timestamping is the process of securely keeping track of the creation and modification time of a document. Security here means that no one – not even the owner of the document – must be able to change it once it has been recorded. (source: Wikipedia)
